Dis my rock.
How are you, guys? I’m a little bit tired, because I started to work today. I left my turtle alone. She ate everything from her ‘island’ and she didn’t destroy anything. She was so polite. I love her, she was so happy when she saw me (I think XD). Tomorrow – another day in work. I totally don’t like that job ._. maybe I will get usted to.
appreciation post for my new friend speedy, he is the fastest tortoise alive and he eats like a fiend.
Here’s my new video on the mata mata turtle!
Check out this awesome video about the Mata Mata turtle! @drinksss did a fantastic job telling us all about its origin and care! Can’t wait for more Herp corner 😀
Maybe one day we can team up for some tortle talk in the herp corner! 😀
So, I was going through your Show Me tag, and I found the post with the tortoise and the croc and just-why was the tortoise squeaking? I thought that tortoises couldn't make noise!
That’s actually a misconception! They don’t have vocal chords or anything but they can huff and squeak and wheeze. Wheezing’s a sign that something’s wrong, like they’re having respiratory problems for whatever reason- but the squeaking is a sign of effort. It’s kinda like weird, heavy breathing! They generally only make that noise when they’re deep in the throes of amorous endeavour.
Y’know, like when they see a really, really sexy shoe.

We may have missed out on cactus but friend Diane sent home a giant treat log with mom. I like the treat log whole, Torty ate hers like a donut (with roommate Geoff), and Mango ate hers like a cookie. I offered some to Blue but he went back to sleep.
Turtles make me smile

Galapagos tortoise at the San Diego Zoo
Slow week? These gentle giants amble along at an astonishing 0.16 miles per hour. And yes, they eat cactus. 🌵 That strong jaw easily tears through tough food items. Check out our IG Live for more noms with our grandpa galaps.
